MICHAEL MOORE WAS FAIRLY QUIVERING WITH RAGE. IT WASN’T A PRETTY SIGHT

Moore was just one angry blush short of bursting a blood vessel as he declared to Rachel Maddow, “This is War!! This is class war…”. Moore urged everyone within driving distance to converge on the capital and clog the buildings and assembly halls, effectively shutting down the process of government. He urged every thinkable action be taken, throwing in as an aside, “non violently”.
In a move, classic to the left, he called for high school children to walk out of school and join with the mob at the Madison State House. The presence of youngsters is always good PR. It was a call for indoctrination, not education. This crisis must not be allowed to go to waste.

Moore brought a pair of handcuffs with him to the show. That may not be incitement to violence like yelling “Fire!” in a theater, but one might say it’s like yelling “smoke”. He said they were for “anyone who works for the banks”. Tellers look out, Moore’s says his handcuffs are for you and everyone else who makes banking possible.

Setting one class against another is endemic across the full spectrum of the Left. It is hard to imagine the Democratic Party even existing without class distinctions and resentments between them. Who would be their constituents?
The video starts with goons breaking into the State House through a window and forcing their way past a guard. Then MSNBC goes on to give Moore a platform to spew forth his nonsense. Michael Moore is not wrong in most of what he said. He is wrong in everything he said.

I will bet you cannot sit through the whole video. There is no reason to try.

LOW VOLTAGE – A CENTRAL PLANNING REPORT

THERE GOES THE CHEVROLET VOLT

Chevrolet sold 287 Volts in February, down from 321 in January. Toyota sold 25,860 Corollas.

Now that General Motors is Government Motors, the dedication to the green car, the Volt, was a central planning decision, not a market driven one. The decision to build it had nothing to do with consumer demand.
A great deal of money was spent on its development, promotion and production. If the product fails, that money represents a loss to the wealth of the nation. Any time an economic failure occurs, everyone loses. This is the big picture. The picture the Left does not understand.

It happens in private enterprise too. But private enterprise plans to win. Central planning plans to fulfill an agenda. If private enterprise reduces their wealth and that of the nation, they alter their plans. Government uses a different yardstick. Strange as it may sound, the wealth of the nation is irrelevant to government. Size of government is what matters. Growth is good. Profit is sin. Appropriating the wealth of its citizens is virtue.

The Volt is a central planning car. The Volt is an economic failure.

REPUBLICAN HOUSE WORKS THRU THE NIGHT, BUT THE DEMOCRATIC SENATE IS NOWHERE IN SIGHT

The runaway party has run away again. This comes from the Washington Times

House lawmakers stayed until 4:41 a.m. Saturday to finish up a spending bill to keep the government open, and sent it over to the Senate — only to be met with an empty chamber. Senators had closed up shop two days before and went home for a 10-day break to honor George Washington’s birthday.

“We will do our work, but where is the Senate? They’re on vacation,” said Rep. Denny Rehberg, a Montana Republican and member of the House Appropriations Committee who ran part of the floor debate over cutting spending for the new health care law. “Here we are knocking up against a March 4 deadline and they’re missing the deadline again.”

So Harry Reid closed up the shop.
Harry’s step one – close down the Senate so there can be no debate or vote on the budget.
Harry’s step two – will be to blame the lack of a budget agreement on Republicans.

This will be the first real test of the new Republican Party. Bill Clinton was successful in swinging public sentiment his way in 1995. This is where great communicators like Chris Christie or the new star, Allen West are needed. Let’s see how the GOP does this time.

INDIANA JOINS WISCONSIN AND TEXAS AS STATES WITH DEMOCRATS AGAINST DEMOCRACY

How can you claim to be for Democracy and against voting?

It all started in Texas in 2003 when state senate Democrats left the state en mass because it was the Republicans turn to present a redistricting plan. The Wisconsin Democrats flew the coop when the Republican governor proposed state workers contribute a percentage of the cost of their health care and retirement plans, still less than normal in the private sector. The trigger issue in Indiana, as I understand it from preliminary reports, is a requirement supported by Democrats, that civil service workers pay a fee to unions they chose not to join.

Bonnie and Clyde, I can understand. They were common criminals and had good reason to go on the run, to cross state lines and hide from the police. We can’t say that about the Democrats, can we. Their actions are extraordinary, certainly not common.

State legislators only need to leave the state to escape certain laws of their state. Washington legislators would need to leave the nation to accomplish the same objective. Do you see where I am going here? Can’t we get the Republican Congress to propose something on which the Democrats don’t want to vote? Even if they are only gone for a week or two it would be like opening the windows on an early spring day.

SEVERE ENERGY CRISIS HITS SOUTHWESTERN TIER

Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas are suffering severe shortages of electricity and natural gas. Hospital administrators in Texas are screaming because even hospitals are not excluded from rolling blackouts planned by electric utility providers. The crisis is but a preview of what will be in store if liberal energy policies prevail. Mexico promised to add power to the grid to help us in our hour of need. Then they reneged. In times of stress when you find out who your friends are.

Obama is taking the heat. The pun wasn’t intended, but now that it’s in print it makes you think,….perhaps he has taken our heat. He placed a moratorium on drilling in the Gulf of Mexico against the explicit advice of his own panel of experts. It was a high profile issue, not a time to contravene expert advice. So the administration changed the advice.

The panel of experts signed a letter exposing the fraud. The main stream press didn’t seem to notice. We reported it in our post First Oil Rig Sails Away .

The drilling ban was lifted, but only after some of the big drilling rigs were gone.

The president canceled the granting of new exploration leases, partially restored after the damage was done. The permitting process has started anew. It takes from five to ten years of feeding the legal profession to go from getting the lease to dropping a bit to start the hole.

Then there’s coal. If we can get some heat we can make electricity. The land has plenty of coal and it burns. But Obama promised to make it economically unfeasible to build a new coal fired energy plant. Darn! Let’s hope he is not a man of his word.

Perhaps we should just build a fence all along the Canadian border. That’s where the cold is coming from, isn’t it?

PRESIDENT OBAMA SHUTS OUT THE PRESS, ALL THE PRESS

Courtesy of The FishBowl, Washington, DC.

After being shut out of the President’s Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) appealed  to the White House for press corps access to an event that’s been called one of the President’s most important foreign policy priorities for almost a year – the signing of the START Treaty. The letter from the news group reads in part:

On behalf of the White House Correspondents Association we are writing to protest in the strongest possible terms the White House’s decision to close the President’s Cabinet meeting on Tuesday and his signing of the START Treaty today to the full press pool.

And

Prior to the President’s statement Tuesday night, the press corps had not received a substantive update from the White House all day on the situation in Egypt. In addition, the press corps did not have an on-camera briefing, or an off-camera gaggle, with you yesterday to ask the White House about its decision-making process during this major foreign policy crisis. Now for two straight days the full press pool is being shut out of events that have typically been open and provided opportunities try to ask the President a question.

Obama campaigned on openness. All important hearings were going to be broadcast on CSPAN. He broke that promise. CSPAN was denied access to the most important hearings of the Obama administration’s two years in office. Obama pledged that every bill would be posted on the internet at least 5 days before it was signed to give the public time to read them and and make their opinions known to their representatives. He failed to keep that promise as well. Even members of Congress, Republican members, were denied copies of the final bill in time to analyze what they contained before voting on them.

We have commented before, on the pre-selection process this president uses to choose which members of the press are going to be allowed to present a question when the president concludes his opening remarks. The format retains the appearance of the spontaneity, but  spontaneity no longer not exists.

We have seen Fox News barred from a general press event until the other agencies took a strong stance in defense of Fox and the Fourth Estate.

No other president in history of this great nation has been less open and more controlling of the press than Barack Obama.

Houston, we have a problem.
