RIGGED DEMONSTRATIONS

Mumia Abu-Jamal happened upon the scene where a young police officer had stopped his brother for a traffic violation. Mumia pulled a gun from his shoulder holster and killed the lone police officer in cold blood. It was 1981. He was convicted of murder and sits in a jail cell today.

Mumia is the kind of Black man Joe Biden would describe as articulate, but not refined. Born Wesley Cook his Kenyan school teacher gave him the African name Mumia and the name stuck. Before the killing he was a community organizer known only locally. The murder thrust him onto the national scene and getting him out of jail became a cause célèbre of the Left. The Pacifica Radio network took up the cause. Many “Free Mumia” demonstrations were organized by the Left.

Philadelphia residents knew the story well because that is where the crime occurred. At one of these demonstrations a local resident asked one of the demonstrators why she thought Mumia should be let out of jail. She replied she had come all the way from Ohio with some friends who told her it would be a cool demonstration and that’s all she knew.

Some people go to church to practice their religion. Others go just to be part of a community. Some demonstrators demonstrate for a cause, others demonstrate just to be part of a community. There is a third group forming, those who demonstrate for pay. We saw it on the front lawn of a bank executive. See THUGS ON THE LAWN.

Now, a bus load of paid demonstrators was organized to appear at a conservative convention in Illinois. Andrew Breitbart was there and he confronted the group. By now the video has been around, but if you haven’t seen it, please do. It begins with a lot of undecipherable shouting but don’t give up. It gets very amusing when the organizers finally surrender and begin to herd their flock back toward the bus.

Andrew was persistent and he won the day.

NO BIAS IN THE PRESS?

Via the WaPo

Amid the ongoing BP oil spill in July, McKelway covered a Capitol Hill demonstration by environmental groups protesting the influence of oil-industry contributions to members of Congress.

In his piece, McKelway said the sparsely attended event attracted protesters “largely representing far-left environmental groups.” He went on to say the protest “may be a risky strategy because the one man who has more campaign contributions from BP than anybody else in history is now sitting in the Oval Office, President Barack Obama, who accepted $77,051 in campaign contributions from BP.”

YOU’RE FIRED!, said the boss. Pardon me, I didn’t mean to shout. Actually, McKelway was suspended, then later he was dismissed. But that’s fired, isn’t it?

HOW OBAMA THINKS

How resentment over colonialism has shaped Obama’s thinking has suddenly become a hot topic in the wake of Dinesh D’Souza’s cover article in Forbes magazine and Newt Gingrich’s comments about the subject. But Random Thots said it first, in our post on June 21st entitled KENYA! THAT’S IT!

We had been puzzled for some time about the source of Obama’s apparent disdain for Great Britain. Suddenly a friend made it crystal clear. Obama’s roots are in Kenya and Kenyans have a deep seated hatred of the English for their colonization.

In doing research for this piece we ran across another gem. Obama has given 23 million of your dollars and mine to Kenya to support the writing of a new constitution, one that carves out legal space for Muslim khadi courts, which handle family issues in accord with Sharia law. Aside from all the other issues involved here, why does Kenya need 23 million dollars  of ours in order to write a new constitution?

MARTIN LUTHER KING

Today we honor Martin Luther King. He was the right man at the right time. His death was a tragedy; his birth was a blessing; he earned he birthday we celebrate each spring. Today we remember him on the 45th anniversary of his “I have a dream” speech given on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

His dream was of a color blind America where a man would be judged by his character, not the color of his skin. We had come a long way toward fulfillment, and then progress was slowed to a crawl by the two opportunistic perpetuaters, Jackson and Sharpton. But the real spoiler of King’s dream is Barack Obama.

If by some turn of events, Colin Powell were seated at the White House, and not Barack Obama, this country would not be experiencing the current growth in the racial divide.

I was 23 years old in 1965, white and living in the North but I remember segregation very well. I do hope you will take the time to watch and listen to Martin Luther King and “I have a dream”.

BLOG CONTENT AND APPEARANCE CHANGES

The Random Thots blog is hosted by Word Press and built upon a theme (layout) selected from among hundreds offered by Word Press. We chose a theme called Cutline because we liked its simplicity. On Monday, Aug 9, Word Press discontinued the Cutline theme.

This resulted in loss of content and some changes in appearance and features. Please bear with us while we work to restore and improve the site. Bob B

DUELING BANJOS

Here is a classic from the movie “Deliverance”. The setting is four buddies from the north are in hostile southern backwoods territory trying to get set up for a wilderness canoe trip. This scene is just a taste of the hostility to come that includes rape and killing.

This great piece of music in this video is in juxtaposition to the rest of the movie.
