HELEN THOMAS COMES OUT, AGAIN

HELEN THOMAS, STILL INVINCIBLE AT 90

Helen Thomas, May 27, 2010
Jews should get the hell out of Palestine” and “go home to Germany and Poland.”

Helen Thomas, June 3, 2010
“I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians. They do not reflect my heart-felt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon.”
But this apology failed to save her job, so…

Helen Thomas, December 2, 2010
When a reporter from the Detroit News asked about her statements of May 27th,
“I stand by it. I told the truth,”

Helen Thomas is through and through a Democrat. Why in the world is it that American Jews solidly vote Democrat?

THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY’S DEPLORABLE THANKSGIVING MESSAGE

The First Thanksgiving Feast was a three day celebration in 1621; life was harsh but the harvest was bountiful. Pilgrims and Native American Indians joined together to give thanks for that which was good and forget for a time that which was not.

Thanksgiving lived on as a tradition until 1863 when President Lincoln declared the tradition to be a National Holiday. The Civil War was in progress and Lincoln added a prayer for peace between the two factions that were dividing the Union. To that end he concluded the proclamation with theses words:

[We the people] implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility and Union. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed. Done at the city of Washington, this third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

No holiday is more dedicated to the expression of mutual gratitude, harmony and togetherness than Thanksgiving. It is a day to put aside what divides us and reflect on all that unites us, as families and as a nation.

Who among us could possibly think of the Thanksgiving table as a place to promote hostility between family members and as a time to introduce argument over the philosophical gap that threatens our national unity? The Democratic Party, that’s who. Here is the message published by the DCCC on Thanksgiving eve.

@Stake: Thanksgiving Cheat Sheet
DCCC @Stake

Friend —

Picture this. And speaking of outrageous things Republicans say, thanks to you we are holding all of those Republican hypocrites accountable for wanting to accept taxpayer-funded health care even as they promise to repeal health insurance reform for hardworking Americans.

Already, more than 30,000 of you have signed our petition, calling for House Republicans to forgo taxpayer-funded health care benefits before trying to repeal health care reform.

If you haven’t done so already, sign our petition to help us expose all of the Republican Health Care Hypocrites.

DCCC Executive Director

The Democratic Campaign Contribution Committee (DCCC) is the fund raising arm of the Democratic Party. The memo’s language is what one might expect from the crudest of political pundits but this is an official statement from the Democratic Party written by the Director of the DCCC, John Vogel. We expect you may find it hard to believe, so here is a link to the DCCC’s official website called @Stake. You will note some minor editing to simplify reading but the tone and context is retained.

NORTH KOREA, PALIN AND OUR POLICY

It appears Kim Jong Il wants another reward from the United States for stopping an aggression he started. Obama says we should talk. Ramirez captures the spirit of  U.S. policy. If they bomb us, we will not stand by idle. We will prepare some tea and insist on a chat with them about it.

Sarah Palin was expressing some better ideas on the Glenn Beck Show when she referred to “our North Korean ally”. It was an obvious slip of the lip, immediately corrected. When Barack Obama makes such a gaffe, and there have been many, they go largely unreported. Not so, with Palin of course. Here’s Sarah’s humorous response:

A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States
by Sarah Palin on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 5:46pm

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

The gibberish above is based, of course, on a series of misstatements and verbal gaffes made by Barack Obama. Links are included to confirm the series of misstatements.

NAKED SCANNER COMPANY IS EXPOSED

Those Naked Body Scanners the TSA is using are made by a company named OSI Systems, Inc. The company spends millions on lobbying for government business. Their Chairman and CEO was invited to join Obama on his India trip. Here is the press release.

OSI Systems Press Release, November 12, 2010:
OSI Systems Chief Executive Officer Joins US Presidential Visit to India

HAWTHORNE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– OSI Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: OSIS), a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications in the Security and Healthcare industries, today announced that Deepak Chopra, Chairman and CEO, was selected to accompany US President, Barack Obama, to Mumbai and attended the US India Business Entrepreneurship meeting, which was held by the US India Business Council (US IBC). The goal of the meeting was to promote further trade between US and India.

PELOSI INVOKES HOUSE RULE TO BLOCK UNEMPLOYMENT BILL THEN CONDEMNS REPUBLICANS FOR IT

Republicans are being condemned for blocking passage of the House bill to extend unemployment benefits. But wait; how can that be when Democrats control the House, the Senate and the Presidency?

The answer is the Democrats under the leadership of Speaker Nancy Pelosi carried out a strategy of presenting the bill under rules that would assure its failure. A credible claim could then be made that Republicans blocked the bill and cut income off to the unemployed at the start of the holiday season. It was a knight’s move in the game of politics.

Here is how it was done. Under the normal standing rules of the House a bill only needs a simple majority to pass. The bill as it was just presented, garnered 63% of the votes, so under the regular rules, it would have clearly passed the House. Two special rules had to be invoked to assure the bill’s timely failure. First of all, amendment proposals were disallowed, and second, a special rule requiring a supermajority for passage was invoked. With these two moves Speaker Pelosi engineered the failure of the bill.

One more step was taken to insure solid Republican voting against the bill. The cost wasn’t funded. It was stipulated that new borrowing be undertaken to meet the cost.

Surely it must be less than 1% of the public that is familiar with the Rules of the House. The press is little more aware of the intricacies of the rules and how they can be employed strategically. The watch dog is asleep. There could be little fear the public would see the ploy. But the fact remains, only the Democrats had the power to kill the bill. This they did. It was an action against the interests of their constituency taken for political gain and the public is none the wiser.

THE POST-AMERICAN PRESIDENT

The video is very disturbing. Obama praises India lavishly, asserting it is a land of great innovation but says America is flawed. You know he is referring to the United States when he says we are living in an era of greed with economic injustice that has endured down through the years. Indonesia does not recognize Israel’s right to exist. People from Israel are not allowed to enter the Muslim country today. Yet Obama praises Indonesia for its tolerance while reminding the world of slavery that has been extinguished for a century and a half.

America has made a horrible mistake. We have elected a man who despises us to lead us, a man whose dreams are of his father and whose heart is in his Indonesian and Muslim roots. We have elected as our President a man who sees our dominant status in the world to be a modern form of colonization, a power for bad, not a power for good.

We have chosen a man to lead today’s America who seeks retribution for slavery as though unaware that scourge was ended over 140 years ago, and that we did it from within with great sacrifice of blood, white blood we might add, shed in order that blacks might be free.

We have elected a man to lead us who is dedicated to change, but what he wants to change is not our faults but that which made us great. We have elected as our President a man who has publicly declared the Constitution he has sworn to uphold, along with the Declaration of Independence, are but a meaningless set of words. We have chosen to lead us a man who would subvert us, a man who seeks to take from those among us that which has been earned and distribute it to those who earned it not.

America has made a horrible mistake. And in so doing, we have proven the vulnerability of Democracy.

To leave you on an upbeat note we close with a musical tribute to the people in our Army, Navy, Marines and Air  Force. It was filmed in Iraq. If we capture the enthusiasm of these men and women who serve us abroad, and I think we have, we will be triumphant in the ideological battle here at home.

WHAT WILL THE DEMS DO ON MONDAY?

Congress re-convenes on Monday Nov 15, 2010; Sen. Reid has retained his seat for 6 more years. But Speaker Pelosi’s control of the gavel and majority support only remains in force for six more weeks. That’s a too short a time to accomplish all the goals left on the agenda. So which one will they pick?

Healthcare is done. Freddie, Fannie and Frank have been saved. Spending the precious allotment of time remaining on old issues like abortion and gun control would be a waste. The big ones still to be done are Card Check (strengthen the labor unions), Carbon Tax (save the environment) and the DREAM Act (save the Party).

Survival being the first instinct of all mankind, the answer is obvious. If Pelosi and Reid see any hope at all for passage of the DREAM Act, that is where they will focus their energies. The provisions of the DREAM Act are designed to increase the population of Hispanic and other immigrant voters and widen the Democratic Party base.

The Heritage Foundation explains how the DREAM Act would provide de-facto amnesty for illegals. The bullet points are:

  • It would reward illegal aliens for violating federal immigration laws by giving them in-state tuition while there are state laws that deny legal aliens on student visas such tuition benefits.
  • It would encourage more illegal immigration by sending the message that the U.S. does not take its immigration laws seriously.
  • It would offer these benefits on taxpayer dollars while out-of-state students struggle to fund their college educations and the economy flounders.
  • It would prohibit the government from deporting anyone who files an application for DREAM Act benefits and would prohibit other agencies (such as the Department of Homeland Security) from receiving the information—essentially giving amnesty to individuals regardless of whether they actually qualify for the act’s protections.
  • It would allow younger illegal immigrants the opportunity, like legal immigrants, to sponsor their immediate family members for a green card. While current law prohibits sponsorship of illegal immigrants living in the U.S., this leaves open the possibility that they could fraudulently, through falsified documents or other means, sponsor their parents who are in the U.S. illegally—creating an even larger amnesty.

Here is a link to the entire Heritage Foundation report

If Pelosi and Reid determine that sufficient votes for passage of the DREAM Act cannot be had, we would guess the second choice would be to spend the time attacking the rich and condemning anticipated Republican blockage of Democratic initiatives.

HOLDING UP NANCY

THE DIVIDER

We said Nancy was done; only the radicals will support her. Well, the radicals are supporting her and there are more of them in the Democratic Party than we would have guessed.

There is a body of opinion that argues it will be good for Republicans in 2012 and that may be true. But it won’t be good for the nation. The next two years are going to be acrimonious enough in any event, and only more so if she is in there stirring the pot (even without her gavel).

Her ardent supporters are actually throwing President Obama under the bus. They are saying the election rout wasn’t Nancy’s fault; Obama did it. Have you noticed, when the Republicans got burned in 2008 they just moped. But now the Democrats got burned this year and the Party is coming unhinged. Not only do they not “get it” about the American people, they don’t “get it” between themselves.

DEMS TO PELOSI – GO, YOU HAVE DONE ENOUGH HARM ALREADY

Defeated Democrats Implore Pelosi to Leave. Read it here.

A reasonable leader would find the grace to take defeat and retire with pride. Pride for what she did? Yes, pride. We abhor her goals and her methods. We detest what she accomplished. But she could have rejected us as we have her and walked into her own world with the knowledge that she did what presidents before her could not. For what we call Obamacare was named after its father but it was Nancy who gave it birth.

Now she fights on after the war has been lost and in her stubbornness turns on those who made her accomplishments possible only months ago. Radicals are unreasonable by nature. Thankfully they tend to be internally divisive as well. The radicals are scattered and only radicals will support her now. Nancy is done.

As far as she is concerned our time for anger is passed. Neither do we have time for pity. There is too much we have to do now that the sun is coming back out.

For instance:

OBAMA ON REDISTRIBUTION OF PRIVATE WEALTH

In this 2001 interview  Barack Obama lamented the fact that the Warren Supreme Court had not seen fit to take property from people who had it and redistribute it to those who  did not. That notion is more Marxist than Socialist. It doesn’t bode well for a presidential candidate to have that sort of view be widely known.

Joe the plumber was instrumental in bringing it to national attention. He hit the nail on the head… ok, that’s a carpenter’s job, but Joe isn’t a union worker so if something needs to be done, and he is there and can do it, he does it. So Joe hit the nail on the head when he said he didn’t want someone elses money. He just wanted a fair chance to earn and keep his own.

But Obama didn’t concur and said instead, it was “time to spread the wealth around”. It was a political gaffe. The statement was not defensible so it was time to destroy the plumber. But the plumber was right.
