THE TAJ MAHAL OBAMAGANZA

THIS ONE

NOT THIS ONE

On November 6th, the election will be over and the Obamas with their extensive entourage will be off to the luxurious Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, India. Air Force One number one and Air Force One number two will both be on the trip. There must not be an Air Force One number three.

Forty taxpayer owned aircraft in all are being assigned to the trip. The entire 800 rooms in the hotel have been booked and the regular staff has been given leave. Apparently the Obamas are bringing their own cooks, hairdressers and teleprompters. Only two things are missing, the guest list and comprehensive press coverage.

One thing not missing, however, is chutzpah. Forgive me Barack; you probably don’t like that word. It’s Jewish. The English word is “audacity”. There I go again, you don’t like the English either. But audacity it is and audacity can be a good thing, I’ll grant you that.

And hey dude, have any of your fellow Democrats complained that turning a 30 minute speech into an expensive overseas extravaganza just before an election is not helping their cause? Or did I err again? Democrats are still your fellow travelers, are they not?

While we’re chatting I have another question. You told a Hispanic audience that those who fail to join you in whatever you support deserve to be punished. I listened to your comment but found it a bit unclear. Did you mean just Hispanic Americans or any American that fails to vote your way “must be punished”?

A word of advice, Barack. We pundits, left or right, can say things like that. It is our job to criticize, yours is to lead. We have little stature to lose. But it’s not befitting the head of a nation, any nation, to declare its citizens should be punished if they vote in a manner that displeases him. It makes a President look dictatorish, know what I mean?

The way it was, circa 1970. Tiny Tim, with a Tisket and a Tasket on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In show. The lack of political correctness at the end of the clip is telling of the times.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

Paul Mirengoff at the Power Line blog disputes the presumptions of Harvard historian James Kloppenberg who has written a book called Reading Obama: Dreams, Hopes, and the American Political Tradition, in which Kloppenberg compares Obama favorably to the founding fathers. Mirrengoff’s post is a very interesting read.

I don’t know where she got it, but Blonde Sagacity posted this photo with the suggestion – CAPTION IT. Click the image and study each ones eyes.

From  Charlie Daniels‘  Soapbox
“It happened in Greece, it’s happening in France and it will happen anywhere the ugly serpent of socialism raises it’s head, including the United States of America.

Socialism is flawed by design. It discourages competition, over taxes the productive, and in its feverish effort to bring all society down to the lowest common denominator, eventually destroys everything in its path.”

CORPORATE HEALTH CARE PLANS ARE ON THEIR DEATH BED

In our Oct 12th post, Obamacare is Working as Planned, we pointed out that the President’s objective is the elimination of private insurance altogether. We included a video of Barack Obama declaring very clearly that single player is the goal. Single means “only” and the “only payer” is of course the federal government. The complete elimination of private health insurance companies is his goal.

One thing the President knows about economics is that he can destroy an industry by raising its costs and taking away its customers. It’s called the double whammy. The Associated Press issued this progress report:

AP WASHINGTON – Oct 24, 2010
The new health care law wasn’t supposed to undercut employer plans that have provided most people in the U.S. with coverage for generations.

But last week a leading manufacturer told workers their costs will jump partly because of the law. Also, a Democratic governor laid out a scheme for employers to get out of health care by shifting workers into taxpayer-subsidized insurance markets that open in 2014.

While it’s too early to proclaim the demise of job-based coverage, corporate number crunchers are looking at options that could lead to major changes.

“The economics of dropping existing coverage is about to become very attractive to many employers, both public and private,” said Gov. Phil Bredesen, D-Tenn.

You must forgive the Associated Press for saying “it wasn’t supposed to”. The AP editors don’t read Random Thots and thus are not fully informed. McDonalds and AT&T were first to say, that due to the new law, they would need to drop or seriously curtail health insurance for employees in order to remain viable and competitive. Senator Waxman threatened to haul the executives into Washington for an investigative hearing by the Senator’s committee. Ultimately a deal was cut and these two companies have exemption from the law.

What’s next? If two are exempted, why not two hundred? or two thousand? That will never do, so more exemptions are unlikely. That means employers will drop the insurance, pay the additional tax (called a “fine” for legal reasons) and health care coverage will default to the government. No major company wants to go next. But one will, and then an avalanche will follow.

In his promise to the labor union membership, Obama said “It won’t happen overnight. It may take 10 years or more.” It looks like the plan is running ahead of schedule.

TAKE ME TO OUR LEADER

The President is showing the stress.
The Speaker’s days are done.
Rahm has left the sinking ship.
Hillary is out of sight.
Bill has lost his audience.
Biden is faithfully carrying on like Saddam’s Minister of Truth.
The party whose symbol is an ass is in shambles.

Now it is our turn not to let their crisis go to waste, but who is our leader?

VOTING FRAUD, TYRANNY AT THE GATE

When you don’t have the votes, what can you do?
Cheat.

Yesterday we ended a post with “Stay alert.” Today we see why. The Tea Party, though not a registered political entity, it is clearly a party of the people. The Democratic party, on the other hand, is the party of the government, the governments party. It wasn’t always so. It is now. That’s why tyranny is at the gate.

For what is tyranny but government of the government, by the government and for the government. That fairly well defines the Democratic party today.

The two most powerful unions in the country are the Teacher’s and the SEIU. Both are unions of government workers. Both are solid, solid Democrat. We have seen SEIU coercion at the polling place. From 1996-2008 their political contributions went 96% to Democrats. Donations from the teacher’s NEA from 1989 to 2010 ytd went 93% to Democrats. This is as you might expect for those whose careers are as employees of government. Republicans are for downsizing your employer. Democrats are for enlarging government, expanding your opportunities, your benefits and in recent years even your wages.

Politicians in power decide the voting laws that will keep them in power. It’s left to employees of government to monitor the voting laws. It’s SEIU members who are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the voting machinery. It is government workers who monitor eligibility of voters to vote. It is government workers who mail out the absentee ballots and it’s government workers who process the ballots when they return. The vast majority of government workers are honest, but they do have a conflict of interest and there are many opportunities for fraud. Some have and will continue to fail their duty. See the examples below.

Community organizing is about controlling the vote. Some tyrants are already inside the gate. Stay alert!

Nevada
1. “Voter Joyce Ferrara said when they went to vote for Republican Sharron Angle, her Democratic opponent, Sen. Harry Reid’s name was already checked.

Ferrara said she wasn’t alone in her voting experience. She said her husband and several others voting at the same time all had the same thing happen.” Read the full article here.

2. “Nevada voting machines automatically checking Harry Reid’s name; voting machine technicians are SEIU members.” Read the full article here

3. “Two days ago, the Democratic Secretary of State announced that voters can be provided “free food” at “voter turnout events.” Harry Reid has been offering free food and, according to other reports, some Democratic allies such as teachers’ unions are offering gift cards in return for a vote for Reid.

Before we were even able to document the reported infractions to report to the authorities, the Democrat Secretary of State slammed the door shut on preventing this behavior and issued a public statement permitting these ACORN-style tactics. THESE are the kinds of shenanigans that can turn this race.” Read the full article here.

South Carolina
Sam Laughinghouse of New Bern said he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result, he said. Then he asked for and received help from election staff.

“They pushed it twice and the same thing happened,” Laughinghouse said. “That was four times in a row.” Read the full article here.

Illinois
October 26, 2010 (CHICAGO) (WLS) — This year marks the first Illinois election that any registered voter can cast their ballot by mail, no excuses necessary. Even as the deadline for those ballots to be postmarked nears, problems are brewing.

OBAMA SAYS REPUBLICANS “GOTTA SIT IN BACK”

Getting Even

“We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”  …Barack Obama from a Rhode Island speech as reported by the Associated Press, Oct 25, 2010

Obama has always had a knack for communicating with his inner constituency in subtle and sometimes not so subtle ways. It wasn’t necessary for him to add, in the back – of the bus – for a certain faction of his followers to smile and say, Right on brother! Right on! Stirring up grievances, old and new is a community organizers job.

“When those prominent in the status quo turn and label you an “agitator” they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function – to agitate to the point of conflict.”… Rules for Radicals, In the Beginning, The Process of Power * by Saul Alinsky

Barack Obama has not come to bring peace; he has come to bring change, total change, to transform America. He is sincere. He harbors resentment. He is determined. He is smart. He knows Americans love their country and the complete transformation he envisions cannot be achieved without some pain. The people need to be aroused, to denounce the status quo and to bring change by force because most of the population will not knowingly accept Obama’s transformation voluntarily.

“The organizer dedicated to changing the life of the people of a community must first rub raw the resentments of the community; fan the latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expression (sic). He must search out controversy and issues, rather than avoid them, for unless there is controversy people are not concerned enough to act.” and “An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent”…Rules for Radicals, In the Beginning, The Process of Power * by Saul Alinsky.

Obama’s current frustration is because the Tea Party stole the first act. And the only community organizing required was Rick Santelli and his 30 second rant. After that it was grass roots from the heart all the way. Barack Obama is down but not out. Stay alert.

*Alinsky did not number the chapters of his book; so we had to identify the location of quotations by chapter name and sub-heading.

“WILL SOMEONE PLEASE SHUT PAUL KRUGMAN UP”

The Economist in Chief for the New York Times has been pleading for our government to spend more, spend heavily and spend it now. Nobel Paul insists we must spend and spend until the economy improves. Like the old carpenters joke “I measured twice and cut twice, but the board was still too short”, Krugman would have us keep cutting the board until it is long enough.

Thankfully no one is listening, not even Barack Obama. Perhaps hoping for a more appreciative ear across the pond, Krugman turned to England. His urgings for the U.K. to spend its way out of debt prompted the UK Telegraph to run the headline that is the title of this post.

“Professor Krugman lambasts Britain’s coalition government in his latest column for its deficit reduction plan, which he reckons will condemn the UK to a depression.

Here’s a taste: “What happens now? Maybe Britain will get lucky, and something will come along to rescue the economy. But the best guess is that Britain in 2011 will look like Britain in 1931, or the United States in 1937, or Japan in 1997. That is, premature fiscal austerity will lead to a renewed economic slump. As always, those who refuse to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it”.

Krugman is obviously referring to the Roosevelt era and inferring that the Great Depression occurred because FDR did not spend enough. When Roosevelt assumed office the National debt was less than 20% of GDP. By the end of his first term it was 50% of GDP, now it is about 90%. On May 9, 1939, after 7 years of the Roosevelt administration, Henry Morgenthau, FDR’s Treasury Secretary and chief architect of the New Deal said “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.”

Now just who is it that is refusing to learn from the past?
