THE POST-AMERICAN PRESIDENCY

The following has been taken and edited from an article originally published at Town Hall by Random Thots on June 03, 2009 under the title “Does Obama Really Loathe America?

From a UK newspaper, the Telegraph,
“No leader in American history has gone to greater lengths than Barack Obama to make amends for his own country. From condemnation of American “arrogance” in a speech in Strasbourg to acknowledging U.S. “mistakes” before millions of Muslims on Arab television, Obama has rarely missed an opportunity to apologize for the actions of the American people.

President Obama has elevated the art of national self-loathing to new heights, and seems to delight in prostrating the most powerful nation on the face of the earth before its critics and rivals, especially on foreign soil.”

From Michelle Obama,
Upon the nomination of her husband,
“I have never been proud of America, until now”

Later, when speaking to a group of children at a school,
“America is downright mean”

From the man whom Obama most looked to for guidance in his life,
“America lies! Lies! Lies! God damn America ! “

From Obama’s community organizing comrade,
I only regret we did not do even more bombing of American facilities (paraphrased).

From the Russian newspaper PRAVDA,
“Like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed.”

“The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama”

Minutia?
Obama banished the bust of Churchill from the White House and sent it back to Britain.
Obama smiled and thanked Hugo Chavez for his gift of a book condemning America.
Obama accepted without comment the prominent display of a Che Guevara poster in one of his local campaign offices.
Obama launched his Senatorial campaign from the home of a man who told the New York Times in 2001 that the notion of the United States as a just and fair and decent place “makes me want to puke.”
In New Orleans Obama said “We had to realize that we were no longer the America we had hoped to be…but here’s the good news America was ashamed and shocked.”

Does this not all add up to something? Who is this man? What are his real beliefs, his real goals?

Author Pamela Geller has undertaken the task of providing some answers to those questions in her recently released book, The Post-American Presidency, The Obama Administration’s War on America. Here is a sampling of chapters: Obama and American Exceptionalism, Obama and Jews, An Islamo-Christian Nation, Destroying the Prestige of America.

We recommend the book.

MISSING AT THE MOSQUE

Understanding Islam

One of the comments often heard about the building of an Islamic mosque at ground zero goes something like this, “I think they have a right to build it there, but is it wise for them to do so?” Let me tell you, it’s not just wise, it’s brilliant!

What’s missing from the debate over the Mosque is a clear understanding of Islam and the muslim religion of Mohamedism. There is a good reason why the Islamic sponsors of the Mosque have chosen the name Cordoba House, why they want to build it where they do, and why they want to have a dedication ceremony on Sept 11th. At Random Thots we think it is vitally important to have a basic knowledge of some of the history and core beliefs within the muslim world. For many years there was no need, there is now.

Islam is more than a religion. It is the law of the land, it is territorial, it is Jihad, it is a nation. It is a nation without borders, not because its location is not defined but because its location is limitless. It encompasses the entire world. Other religions recognize religion and government as two different things, no matter how closely tied they may be. In Islam they are one and the same.

The goal of Islam is the establishment of the religion/government of Mohamedism worldwide. The first concern is to purify the Holy Land (all of the Mid-East) of kuffa (non-believers) then to rule the world beyond. Once that has come to pass, peace will prevail throughout, and not before. This is the peace Islam so earnestly seeks. Jihad is the struggle to complete the work that will bring about that time of peace. Christians and Jews also envision a time when the world will be at peace, but believe there is nothing they can do to determine or hasten the time.

Islam divides the world into two realms. dar al Islam (the world of submission to and acceptance of Allah) and dar al Harb (the world of war). To an Islamist you are either a believer or an abject enemy, an enemy of God and man and standing in the way of peace.

Jihad in dar al Harb, the realm of war, is fought on two fronts, both well understood in the muslim world. The first is the militant front, the flying of planes into the WTC towers, bombing a train in Spain to swing an election, and bombings like those in Bali and London. These are the hot heads, lesser in number but louder in voice than the majority. For the vast majority of devout muslims violence is not their way. Nevertheless, the militants are doing God’s work, praise be to Allah.

The second front of the jihad in the realm of war is the exhortation to follow the command of diaspora. Go into the lands of the kuffa and populate but do not assimilate. Conform and wait, but be not one of them for they are your enemy. Mohamed preached it in the 15th century. The concept later became known as that of the Fifth Column. The term was first used by Emilio Mola, a Nationalist General during the 1936–39 Spanish Civil War. As his army approached Madrid, there was concern that the four columns of his forces would not be sufficient to take the city. He said, not to worry, his troops were supported by a “fifth column”, a column of his followers inside the city.

Before we put this all together and relate it to the Mosque in Manhattan there is one more thing to cover. It’s a bit of history. Cordoba, a city in the southern region of Spain, was the first European city conquered by the Muslim Army. It remained under Muslim control for more than 700 years until the advancing Crusades led to its being returned to Christian governance. The name Cordoba has enormous significance in the Muslim world. It symbolizes the peak of their power as well as a source of great resentment.

Symbolism is as much a part of battle as guns and cannons. Our National Anthem is the Star Spangled Banner. The raising of the American flag on the Island of Iwo Jima is the powerful symbol of our WW II victory in the Pacific. The Muslim world is watching. The erection of Cordoba House in the shadow of Ground Zero will stand as an Iwo Jima to the Muslim world.

Some American’s will see the approval for the building of the Mosque as a concession to religious freedom, others will view it as an insult to those who died. A few may even be fooled into believing the claim that it is an outreach from the Islamic community seeking better “understanding”. But there will be no division of thought in the Muslim world as to what it signifies.

So you see, to build it some distance away and dedicate it on whatever day it is completed would turn a monument to Islamic progress into a conciliatory defeat. If it comes to that, and we don’t believe it will, it will not be named Cordoba House.

911 VICTIMS SPEAK OUT

Freedom’s Lighthouse reports

The Drudge Report is leading this morning with the headline, “Shock Poll: 1 out of 4 Think Obama Muslim.” They link to a Time article that says 24% believe Obama to be a Muslim:

Considering his muslim roots, his statement that America is a muslim country, his de facto denial of Islamic terrorism and the sternness of his admonishment to Americans opposed to the infamous mosque, I ask, where is the shock in a poll that reveals that 24% believe Obama is a muslim?

From Time Magazine

The survey also revealed that many Americans harbor lingering animosity toward Muslims. Twenty-eight percent of voters do not believe Muslims should be eligible to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court. Nearly one third of the country thinks adherents of Islam should be barred from running for President — slightly higher than the 24% who mistakenly believe that the current occupant of the Oval Office is himself a Muslim. In all, just 47% of respondents believe Obama is a Christian; 24% declined to respond to the question or said they were unsure, and 5% believe he is neither Christian nor Muslim.

Mistakenly believe? Is that a fact? Does Time know something the rest of us do not? Put me in the 5%, at least for now. But I will not declare the 24% “mistaken” for they could be  right.

DOOM SELDOM HAPPENS

The TARP program was originally estimated, in the fall of 2008, to cost taxpayers $356 billion. As of April 2010 the estimate was reduced to $89 billion. Paybacks from troubled firms have continued to exceed expectations. An estimate made today would likely be even lower. TARP was not funded, it was just budgeted. There is no leftover pool of money.

The BP spill is a different story. It looks like another doom that didn’t happen. Was it a disaster, yes, but a $20 billion disaster, probably not. In this case there will be a pool of leftover money because the $20 billion is funded with cash from BP now sitting in a fund under government control. It cannot be used for campaign expenses but it could buy happiness for some appreciative voters to whom it is distributed.

Why not use the excess money to better fortify the levies that failed when Katrina came ashore? It is not politically feasible I suppose. Shame.

OBAMA HAS SPOKEN, THE MOSQUE WILL BE BUILT

Ok, citizens, you’ve had your lecture, now toe the line! With a tightness of lip and bit of emotion in his voice your President has commanded you to respect all Muslims without distinction, including those who laud the killing of your sons, your daughters, your wives and your husbands on that fateful September day. He says that is the American way.

Mr. Obama, my response is a fervent as your command. I do not share your Muslim roots, Mr. Obama, but I do have something you don’t. I have on my desk my World Trade Center photo ID. I was not in the building that day but the horror is real to me. When you have seen people falling, story by story to their ugly deaths you lose all will to honor the technically legal rights of those who in turn, honor the Muslims who slit the throats of the pilots and flew the planes into the towers.

Mr. Obama, let me tell you a story, a true story. From an upper floor, above where the first plane hit, a young woman of Oriental descent phoned her mother. Upon conveying the agony of unbearable heat, her mother advised she put modesty aside and remove her blouse. I tried, the daughter replied, but I can’t. It’s melted into my skin. That young woman died that day. By what moral authority do you ask us to look the other way. That is but one story, I’m sure there are more.

I ask you, Mr. Obama, what do you know of the American way? You who wept and found your calling in the pew of the “God Damn America” church of Black Liberation Theology. Nothing but nothing, is more antithetical to the American way than the Marxist teachings of Liberation Theology.

We chose you for our leader. But you who promised so much have given so little. You promised to heal, then you salted our wounds. The greatest irony of all is that your Presidency may turn out to be the second worst thing for which America has only herself to blame. The first was slavery.

THEY WANT YOUR MONEY

STATE FUNDING BILL SPENDS 26B ON GOVERNMENT

The Democratic Party is the party of the government, for the government and by the government. The Republican Party is the party of the rest of the people.

Government is the civic worker’s employer. The Republican Party calls for downsizing of government. Downsizing brings job insecurity and lessened opportunity for workers on a government payroll. The Democratic Party, on the other hand, fights for growth and expansion of government. For those employed by government the Democratic Party offers greater job security and an increased measure of opportunity. Thus it is reasonable and natural that the Democratic Party would be the party of the government.

Today’s passage of the 26B dollar State funding bill is a prime example. It was promoted by the Administration as a bill to send money from the Federal government to the State governments for payment of salaries to teachers, police, firemen and first responders, government workers all.

The Republican Party argues for growth in all areas, except government. In the matter of job security, the Republican Party is the party of everyone other than government employees. In that sense, it is the party of the people.

Herein lie the makings of a vicious cycle. The bigger government gets, the more people there are who vote for bigger government. Democracy is a fragile system. This is just one of its vulnerabilities.

TEA PARTY WEAKNESS ON PRIMARY DAY ?

RICK SNYDER

Snyder wins in Michigan, Moran in Kansas. Neither was the Tea Party favorite so much is being made of it as a sign of Tea Party weakness, especially by the Left. The Left is grabbing at straws. All it shows is that the Tea people do not dominate the Republican Party. And that bodes well for the general election.

The role of the Tea Party is to influence the Republican Party, not to introduce sudden radical change. Teddy Roosevelt’s Bull Moose Party quickly bit the dust. Ralph Nader only succeeded in aiding Republican candidates by splitting the Democratic vote. The Tea people are doing just fine right now, bringing the Republican Party back to Conservatism one steady step at a time.

JERRY MORAN

Snyder is running for Governor of Michigan, home of Detroit and the highest unemployment rate in the country. As an experienced businessman, Snyder was a good choice. Moran is vying for the Kansas Senate seat and his election will be more significant on a national level.

UPDATE: A good example of why the Tea Party should not dominate. Sarah Palin endorsed Brian Murphy over Gov Robert Ehrlich as Republican candidate for the Maryland Senate seat. Here is a comment from Paul Mirengoff at Power Line blog.

The problem is that, in my view (and I’ve lived in Maryland most of my life), Murphy has essentially zero chance of defeating our incumbent liberal governor, Martin O’Malley. By contrast, former Gov. Robert Ehrlich, the overwhelming favorite to secure the Republican nomination, is running even with O’Malley in the polls. Thus, for those of us who wish to avoid a continuation of liberal state governance, Ehrlich is the obvious choice

H.R. 413

The Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act (originated as HR 413) is not a bill to improve public safety or to improve cooperation between employer and employee. The title is pure propagandic. The use of grossly misleading titles for proposed legislation is the rule in Washington, not the exception.

The purpose of this bill is to increase union membership among municipal employees in the police, fire and medical services groups. Here is what the American Spectator has to say about it.

The bill claims to be designed to foster public-safety employer-employee cooperation. Nothing could be further from the truth. Actually, the bill’s sole aim is to grant union officials monopoly collective-bargaining control over all state and local public-safety workers, including police, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel who refuse to join, or who quit a union and want to deal with their employer on an individual basis. In short, this bill would deny public-safety workers freedom of contract.

The bill would not foster public-safety employer-employee cooperation, because union bargaining is inherently confrontational, not cooperative. This bill itself recognizes that fact by purporting to prohibit strikes. That prohibition means little. History shows that when unions are granted monopoly bargaining privileges in the public sector, strikes occur whether legal or not.

Most important, this bill abrogates each state’s existing and sovereign right to order the labor relations of its own and its local governments’ employees in accordance with its elected officials’ judgment as to that state’s public interests.

Card Check (EFCA) is not the only bill in Congress designed to increase the membership and power of labor unions.

MISSOURI vs. WASHINGTON

Proposition C voters said YES to the tune of 71% in favor of the Proposition which says NO to mandated insurance for health care. Missouri thus joins with Arizona in entering into a serious conflict between a sovereign State and the Federal government, AZ over illegal immigration, MO over Obamacare. What State will be next? What issue will be next?

This case is almost certain to go to the U.S. Supreme Court. If the Court upholds Missouri’s Proposition C, Missouri residents will be exempt from the Federal mandate to buy this insurance. An avalanche of states will follow. Obamacare will be in trouble. Kagan, if appointed, will be the leftmost judge on the court. The direction in which she would vote is not in doubt.

One of the reasons America surpassed Europe to become a superpower is that Europe is comprised of nation states that repeatedly make war with each other while our states remain united, even following a civil war.

We were a nation that had grown harshly divided along political lines in recent years. Obama promised to bring unity. Instead, we have seen only a widening of the gap and a hardening of the hostility along political lines.

We have quoted Lincoln before and we will quote him again, “A house divided cannot stand.”
