100 FUND RAISERS BUT NOT A SINGLE MEETING WITH HIS JOBS COUNCIL

In the last six months the President has traveled to over 100 fund raisers but not once has he convened an official meeting of his jobs council.  That’s Barack Obama.

Two possibilities for reasons immediately come to mind.  First, raising money is such an all out priority that spending an hour or two improving the jobs picture is a sacrifice he doesn’t want to make; or second, he knows what the Council will advise him to do and he knows he won’t do it.  Both are likely to be correct.

Obama’s animosity toward the business world is very clear.  There is the statement in Dreams from My Father where he said his one and only job in a business firm was “like working behind enemy lines”.  Then there is his promise to put the coal industry out of business and his assurances to ACORN organizers and labor unions that in healthcare ”single payer is the goal”  That of course means there would be no more insurance companies.  And as we watch Air Force One jet from fund raiser to fund raiser at our expense, let us not forget how he railed against the captains of industry who came to his beck and call on smaller jets paid for, not by us but by their own stockholders.  Obama is not about follow the recommendations of advisors who tell him the way to create jobs is to create a favorable climate for private industry.

His record of job recovery coming out of a recession is the worst since the days of FDR in the 1930s.  The only accomplishments he has going for him with independent voters are 1) the Navy Seals got Bin Laden on his watch and 2) the passage of Obamacare.  The first had little to do with Obama’s planning and the second is unpopular and it’s a job killer.  He can’t run on his record so he has chosen a combination of the Alinsky model of demolishing your opponent and the ACORN tactic of gaming the election process as his strategy for winning re-election.  These are unsavory tactics but, unfortunately, the community organizer in Barack Obama excels at both.

OBAMA IS RIGHT ABOUT THAT!

At a campaign stop in Cincinnati Obama paused in the lobby of the Music Hall to say a few words to the waiting crowd. He told them “This is going to be an even more important election than 2008 because we’re going to be talking about two fundamentally different visions for the country.” He could not be more correct.

However, he doesn’t spell out exactly what his vision is. In 2008 the mantra was Hope and Change. Hope for what? Change to from what to what? Barack Obama was speaking to two audiences with the same words. One audience heard more openness in government, better education, tax reform, more accomplishment and less politicking in Washington. These were people who believe in America, wanted to improve it and voted for him.

The very same slogan of Hope and Change spoke to the other audience as a promise for total transformation of America as we know it. This message is the one heard by people like Michelle who can find nothing in America’s past or present to proud of, but who see only a country that enriched itself on slavery and continues to be an oppressor to this day. The free market system that Marx called capitalism is the problem; socialism is the answer; total transformation from one to the other is the promise of hope and change.

The latter is Obama’s true message but only a small group knew it in 2008. People like Saul Alinsky’s son, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright and the denizens of community organizing were aware of the goal. Four years later Barack Obama still remains an enigma to many. He defines his vision for America simply as “Forward”. Forward to where? Forward to what? He doesn’t say. Progressives know. Do you?

You should, because you will be voting for one of two fundamentally different visions for the country.

THE GREAT DIVIDER DIVIDES AGAIN

By his inferences and claims that Mitt Romney may be a criminal the Great Divider has divided once again.  But this time he has underestimated the intelligence and character of the American people.  His hardest core followers, the Republican haters, will have one more ostensible justification for their hate.  The division will become deeper but not broader.

The vast majority of the American people can see the allegations for what they are – slanderous, deceitful, desperate attempts to divert attention from Obama’s record in office and beneath the dignity of a sitting president.  In short, it will backfire against him.  Barack Obama is hoisting himself by his own petard with this one.  It will fail just as the ridiculous attempt to paint Republicans as waging a war against women.

One complaint frequently heard from conservatives is that Republicans tend to pull their punches, remaining too reserved when responding to false charges.  Signs are developing that this will not be the case with the Romney campaign.  When Howard Cosell asked Mohammad Ali whether he aimed his punches at the jaw or the side of the head, Ali answered “I aim for the back of the head”.  Romney knows what he is up against and, like Ali, will not stop short when he punches back.

MY POLICIES ARE GOOD, IT’S JUST THAT YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THEM

“The mistake of my first term – couple of years – was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right.  And that’s important.  But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times.

It’s funny – when I ran, everybody said, well he can give a good speech but can he actually manage the job?”  ~  Barack Obama, July 2012

But he did tell a story to the American people, lots of them.  And he brought a sense of unity as well, unity of the public against the energy companies and banks, of the poor against the middle class and unity of blacks against whites.  The President’s problem is not that his message isn’t getting across; it’s that his message  is  getting across.

FORTY-ONE STRAIGHT MONTHS OVER EIGHT PERCENT

Unemployment has been 8% or higher for the last 41 months and Barack Obama said in Ohio on Friday that the country is headed in the right direction.  If that’s the case, I have to ask just where it is he thinks we should go?

The U6 number which includes would-be workers who have given up and dropped off the stats is pushing very close to 15%.  The country hasn’t experienced such economic malaise lasting this long since the Great Depression, literally.

Increasing taxes on the rich won’t create jobs.  Adding an immeasurable cost of doing business with a health care plan when we still don’t know what’s in it won’t create jobs.  Blocking energy programs like the Keystone Pipeline and placing moratoriums on drilling in the Gulf doesn’t create jobs.  Subsidizing green energy programs like Solyndra hasn’t created any net jobs.  The Joint Economic Committee led by Congressman Kevin Brady issued a report saying that the Obama recovery now ranks dead last in modern times.  Spending stimulus, housing bailouts, auto bailouts, financial bailouts, cash for clunkers, extending unemployment benefits and $5 trillion in deficit spending left the Obama recovery dead last in modern times.

If you are a President, how do you create jobs?  You don’t.  Business creates jobs; you clear the road stand aside and cheer.  You don’t stand in the middle, over-regulate and jeer — and then blame the lack of progress on your predecessor.

OUR LAWLESS PRESIDENT

Less than 3 weeks ago I penned a post with the heading This President Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Congress To Change The Law.  Judging by his comment this week he thinks he doesn’t need Congress to make new law either.

“I’ll work with anybody who wants to work with me to continue to improve our health care system and our health care laws, but the law I passed is here to stay,” Obama said at a campaign event in Ohio.

It was not a Freudian slip either; it is simply the way the man sees himself and his presidency, Obama the omnipotent.  Remember the presidential like seal he had emblazoned on the seat of his campaign plane, and the Roman columns for the Inauguration?  In one of his early acts as President, he subrogated bankruptcy law to his own dictate by ignoring the legal rights of Chrysler’s secured bond holders and awarding their money the labor unions.  That was June 10, 2008.

A year later Charles Rowley recounts the event.

“June 10 will be a silent anniversary, but one worth noting by those alarmed at the past year’s assault on free institutions.  It was last June 10 when the federal government tossed aside the option of proven workable bankruptcy procedures in order to nationalize Chrysler on behalf of its union allies.” Mitch Daniels, ‘Hoosiers vs. Crony Capitalism’ The Wall Street Journal

The Chrysler intervention by Barack Obama breached the rule of law and categorized his administration as yet another Third World despotism that despises the rule of law and forces discriminatory practices down the throat of a weak and cowardly judiciary. It provides an almost perfect example of state (crony) capitalism at its worst in the hands of an unscrupulous would-be tyrant.

If it’s the law you say, surely the bondholders had their day in court.

Naturally, the secured bondholders started out by defending their legal rights. Obama’s apparatchiks  (notably Lawrence Summers and Timothy Geithner)  attacked them mercilessly, warning of the serious consequences that would surely  follow from their continued resistance. Large numbers of secured bondholders chose safety over liberty and acquiesced to federal pressure.

The tagline Saul Alinsky used to introduce the Rules for Radicals chapter called Tactics is “We will either find a way or make one.”  When a gangster is holding a gun to your head it does no good to argue with him about the law.  Obama’s gun was the bailout money.

JIMMY CARTER RIDES AGAIN

The New York Times published an Op-Ed piece today written by Ex President Jimmy Carter.  It seems Carter is very concerned about the human rights abuses he sees occurring around the world.  Right up front in the second sentence the former president calls for an end to abuses against American citizens in particular.

In an article that is 753 words long there is only one nation in the world that he censures for having a despicable record on human rights.  You guessed it.  It’s the United States.  There is not one word about China, Syria, the Taliban, Saudi Arabia, Egypt or Somalia or any other nation.  In Carter’s eyes, the only bad guy on the planet is the US of A.

Jimmy, why don’t you go back to certifying elections in Venezuela.  We don’t need you here any more.  You have been replaced.

FAST AND FURIOUS THEORY AND FACT

Why would anyone put a large supply of guns into the hands of some of the fiercest criminals on the earth and make no effort whatever to follow their whereabouts or control their use?  Bill Whittle has some answers.

So reads the Obama Event Registry on the campaign’s Obama – Biden Blog.

If it is an act of desperation it is excusable.  Soliciting your supporters wedding and birthday gifts is distasteful and embarrassing but it is also open and honest.  If you are losing a fight for your political life some honest but unusual measures can be acceptable.

The rub comes in if it’s not a desperation move but just another way to get a few more bucks from your constituents.  Then it’s just plain shameless.  I call upon Barack to give up his golf and donate the greens fees, and upon Michelle to buy one less thousand dollar dress and donate the money to the cause.

And let’s suppose, just suppose the Obama kids got birthday gifts.  Wouldn’t  that be a scandal now.

REAGAN GETS THE FINGER IN THE OBAMA WHITE HOUSE

Here we see three Gay Pride activists, all guests in the White House posing to be photographed as they proudly give the middle finger to a former President.  I for one would not tolerate such a disgusting act of disrespect like this from guests in my own house.  And I would wager a priestly sum on a bet that these three consider themselves to be the occupiers of the moral high ground.

It is not a question of where you stand on the issue of gay rights; it’s a simple matter of common decency.  We have come to expect this type of sordid behavior in the streets, now Barack Obama tolerates it in our White House.  The event was the first ever Gay Pride reception where the gay guests dined on crab cakes and canapés and danced to music played by the U.S. Marine Corps Band.  Quite a picture isn’t it.

One of the guests hand delivered a letter to Obama from an 18 year old student from Philadelphia.  It seems to be totally unrelated to sexual orientation.  The young man has had a rough time in school, not with his studies but with violence.  It’s not limited to bullying; four of his close friends and relatives have been killed.  Philadelphia mayor Mike Nutter promised a crackdown but he has done nothing.  You can read the student’s plea to Obama here.

The conditions in Philadelphia today can’t be blamed on the Republican Party.  The city has not had a Republican mayor since 1952; that’s 60 years.  But you probably guessed as much when I told you about the letter.
