MATTHEWS EXPRESSES HOPE THAT WEINER RIDES IT OUT

Chris Matthews said Weiner should stay on because “he still has a roll to play” for the American people.  On Matthews’ Hardball program there is less talk about condemnation and more talk on how Weiner should have dealt with the issue once the story first broke out.  To the folks at MSNBC the real shame is not Weiner’s actions. The real shame is that Democrats stand to lose a strong voice in Congress if Weiner loses his post.  Even Harry Reid didn’t stoop that low.

Reid said “I know Representative Weiner.  I wish I could defend him, but I can’t”.  Chalk one up on the good side for Harry.

Watch this video of Weiner defending himself on ABC. Please excuse the brief ad. Watch it all, then ask yourself what kind of person it would take to defend this man as fit to represent the American people.

MICHAEL MOORE WAS FAIRLY QUIVERING WITH RAGE. IT WASN’T A PRETTY SIGHT

Moore was just one angry blush short of bursting a blood vessel as he declared to Rachel Maddow, “This is War!! This is class war…”. Moore urged everyone within driving distance to converge on the capital and clog the buildings and assembly halls, effectively shutting down the process of government. He urged every thinkable action be taken, throwing in as an aside, “non violently”.
In a move, classic to the left, he called for high school children to walk out of school and join with the mob at the Madison State House. The presence of youngsters is always good PR. It was a call for indoctrination, not education. This crisis must not be allowed to go to waste.

Moore brought a pair of handcuffs with him to the show. That may not be incitement to violence like yelling “Fire!” in a theater, but one might say it’s like yelling “smoke”. He said they were for “anyone who works for the banks”. Tellers look out, Moore’s says his handcuffs are for you and everyone else who makes banking possible.

Setting one class against another is endemic across the full spectrum of the Left. It is hard to imagine the Democratic Party even existing without class distinctions and resentments between them. Who would be their constituents?
The video starts with goons breaking into the State House through a window and forcing their way past a guard. Then MSNBC goes on to give Moore a platform to spew forth his nonsense. Michael Moore is not wrong in most of what he said. He is wrong in everything he said.

I will bet you cannot sit through the whole video. There is no reason to try.

BEATING A DEAD HORSE DEPARTMENT

This item could have easily been titled ”Joke of the Week”. Here is one sentence from the New York Times’ announcement of Olbermann’s final break with MSNBC. It’s a real howler.

“Mr. Olbermann’s outspoken, and sometimes controversial, support of liberal positions and Democratic candidates redefined MSNBC from a neutral news channel to one that openly offered a voice to viewers on the left, much as Fox News has done for conservatives.”

Sometimes controversial? The Times needs a good thesaurus so they could find words like “frequently” or “always” or “highly”. And controversial? Sarah Palin is controversial. Keith Olbermann is beyond controversial, he is mean spirited. At least that’s what the Times might have said. I would have said disgusting.

Olbermann redefined MSNBC, from a neutral channel? Do the editors think MSNBC was politically neutral before he came on board? Apparently so. Makes your head spin, doesn’t it. It takes a very strong pair of liberal colored glasses to see MSNBC as neutral, even before Olbermann.

“Openly offered a voice to viewers on the left” So that’s why the ratings were so high (a bit of sarcasm there), the left finally had a voice, and an open voice at that. Out of the closet, finally!

Olbermann and MSNBC are much like Fox. Really? Perhaps we should get a television set for them as well as a thesaurus so they could actually watch Fox before equating it to MSNBC.

So much for the New York Times. Now I feel the need to explain Dead Horse. You see, there has been a lot of reporting on the Olbermann affair, at Random Thots and elsewhere. And it’s over. He’s gone. Commenting further, such as I have done here is like hitting a horse that has died in an effort to get him up, a useless endeavor. I was not suggesting violence against horses or people. I did not intend to imply any harm should come to the mann. I did not mean to compare Olbermann to a dead horse. If I were to compare him to a horse it would be a live one, and not the whole horse, of course.

I do not believe horses should be beaten, not even dead ones. I am a good and gentle person. I’m just not a Democrat.

GOProud

In a earlier post we suggested watching MSNBC to get to know your opponent.  Now we find it can be a place to get to know your allies as well. We had never heard of  Christopher Barron or GOProud until he appeared on the ED Show.  A lot more civil but just as arrogant Cenk Uygar, was sitting in for Ed Schultz.

Barron was unflappable and spot-on with his rejoinders.  You will enjoy the video.

“One Nation Working Together”

Power Line comments on the  “One Nation Working Together” rally in Washington:

1) Four hundred organizations, including all the major labor unions, the NAACP, the Sierra Club, Code Pink, the Green Party, the Communist Party, Planned Parenthood and hundreds more were not able to turn out as many people as Glenn Beck.

2) One of the stated purposes of the gathering was to protest against lack of civility in public discourse. The program was opened by Ed Schultz.

Item 2 is good for a laugh and a cry. No one in public discourse, not even Keith Olberman, is less civil than Ed Schultz. If you don’t know him you must watch one full program of his on MSNBC,  6pm EST. Force yourself. You must know your adversaries. You cannot speak about a man with authority if you have not observed him for yourself.

What is striking about Power Line’s item 1 is the motley crowd of supporters. Have you ever been embarrassed to know Michael Savage is on your side? It beats knowing that your agenda coincides with that of Code Pink and the Communist Party.

OLBERMAN, MATTHEWS and FINEMAN TURN ON OBAMA

Barack’s Hopeless Speech

You don’t watch the Hate channel, do you? So let me tell you; last night MSNBC’s team O-M-F turned on B-H-O. The three cohorts were unanimous in their condemnation, not only of the President’s oil spill speech, but of the entire way he has handled the BP disaster. It is a far cry from making the honored Worst Person in the World award but it is a precipitous fall from grace for Obama.

Jump to conclusion – Hillary will win the Democratic nomination for the 2012 election. Here’s how I got there, (if I may borrow that phrase). Obama is slaughtering his party. Not a single Pennsylvania politician wanted to be seen with him at his recent speech in Pittsburgh. Admit it or not, he is going to be held responsible for the outcome of this November’s elections.

The main stream press is in love with Obama’s agenda and color but not happy with how he has dealt with the press. From pre-selecting those whose questions will be accepted at après briefing to attempting to bar one of them, Fox, from white house briefings he has shown more inclination to control the press than any president before him. If it can happen to one, even Fox, it can happen to any and they know it. As Obama’s star declines, look for Hillary’s to rise.

It takes 2 to make a marriage; a single woman and an anxious mother. It takes 2 to nominate a candidate, support from the party and a favorable press. Hillary has both. Barack may soon have neither.

When the press turned from Hillary to Barack in 2008 I predicted Hillary would lose, and she did. I see the potential for the same phenomenon now, but in reverse.
